Two models, two capacity ratings

With two fully wheelchair accessible models to choose from, the Telecab family boasts sleek and modern look with an enclosed cab and acrylic panels that create a light and airy feeling as you enjoy a smooth and quiet ride.

The original Telecab offers a capacity of 500 lb and up to 23′ of travel. Its small footprint requires a minimum floor cut-out of 36″ x 60.5″. There are multiple cab sizes and configurations available, including straight-through and same-side entry/exit.

The Telecab 17 model offers a capacity of 850 lb, perfect for heavier mobility equipment. This higher-capacity model requires a minimum floor cut-out of 60.5″ x 35.25″. There are two cab sizes available, including a 36″ x 54″ cab when a little more room is required.

Is the Telecab a wheelchair elevator?

Some manufacturers refer to their wheelchair accessible through-the-floor lifts as wheelchair elevators. But those products operate on constant pressure or “hold-to-run” controls, just like the Telecab. To make the lift move, you have to press and hold the buttons in the cab.

Technically, this makes the Telecab, and similar products, a wheelchair lift—even though it looks like a home elevator.

The good news is that many jurisdictions offer tax rebates or funding programs that can help pay for a wheelchair lift, but those same programs will not cover a home elevator.

Proven reliability and safety

The Savaria Telecab home lift is built on the same drive system as our popular and robust commercial-grade V-1504 wheelchair lift and features a robust and reliable hydraulic drive system enclosed in a tower, eliminating the need for a separate machine room.

The Telecab is operated by easy-to-use constant pressure controls with keyless or keyed access on car and call stations, and comes packed with safety features, including:

Emergency stop and alarm buttons
Battery lowering in case of power failure, as well as manual emergency lowering
In-cab telephone
Non-skid platform
Sensors on the top and under-panel to stop the unit if it detects an obstruction
Pressure relief valve to prevent platform overload

Optional battery backup power for up to 5 trips up and down, in case of power failure

Revolutionary ceiling lift technologies

Make getting your loved one from point A to point B—such as from bedroom to bathroom—safer, easier and more comfortable. Our motorized ceiling lifts carry the patient in a comfortable sling that’s fitted to the individual’s needs.

Whether you need a temporary solution with a portable lift and gantry system, or a more permanent installation with a fixed track, your Savaria ceiling lift will feature two innovations we developed to make every transfer safer and more reliable.

SureClip technology

Our SureClip technology is an important safety feature not found on other ceiling lifts—the clips open outwards instead of inwards. Why is something so simple so important? The outward-facing clips are a more reliable method of securing the sling to the lift—helping to prevent the potential disaster of a mis-clip and fall.

Lithium battery

We were also the first manufacturer to use lithium-ion batteries and an optimized transmission to power our ceiling lifts. It’s the same advanced power technology used in electric vehicles is used in your ceiling lift!

Enhanced performance and sustainability

That means your ceiling lift can do an average of 80 cycles with a 200 lb person on a single charge—that’s 50% more than lifts that use lead-acid batteries. All it takes is a daily 15-30-minute charge to keep your Savaria ceiling lift working at full capacity (2-hour charge to go from 0% to 100% charge). Lithium-ion technology is greener with no lead-acid disposal, and requires fewer battery replacements, as it’s built to last five years with normal usage.

Fixed-track ceiling lifts

Fixed ceiling lifts include a track installed in the ceiling. Safety and security are always of the utmost importance, so the track is designed and engineered to meet the load requirements on the particular lift. The Savaria FastTrack system offers easier installation for a faster set up, so your Home Access expert can get you up and running quickly.

Our fixed ceiling lift line-up offers weight capacities right up to the Savaria HC ceiling lift capable of an incredible 1200 lb!

Portable ceiling lifts

Portable ceiling lifts are a great solution to short-term needs, or in condos or rental units where a fixed-track lift can’t be installed. They’re ideally suited to help transfer your loved one from the bed to a wheelchair. Portable ceiling lifts are easy to operate and installed on a gantry-style frame.

Capacity for the Savaria PL portable lift ranges from 286 – 440 lb. A wide range of slings are available for use with Savaria ceiling lifts, including universal, hygienic, hammock, repositioning and walking styles from our Handicare or Silvalea brands.

Mobile floor lifts

Sometimes we all need a little lift. Our floor lifts are there to help you transfer, position, or support your loved one with daily activities. Our Handicare mobile floor lifts include three models:

The economical Carina350 is a foldable, compact unit with a capacity up to 350 lb that’s easy to store out of the way when it’s not needed, or take with you away from home.

The versatile Eva is great for helping your family member transfer between seated and lying positions. There are two weight capacity options: 450 lb and 600 lb.

The Handicare FGA-700 is a heavy duty unit that is also suitable for gait training and therapy sessions when the patient needs smooth and stable support.

Sit-to-stand lifts

Does your loved one require some extra support standing independently? Our Handicare range offers three models of sit-to-stand lifts:

The ReTurn family features patented design that aims to reduce caregiver strain while helping patients strengthen their muscles and regain functional ability. With three models and weight capacities to choose from, there will be one that is right for your family member

The MiniLift sit-to-stand is uniquely designed to help the patient move forward and upward in a more natural motion, providing a secure and active experience to help with strength conditioning and rehab exercises.

The QuickMove sit-to-stand is designed for patients with impaired balance and leg strength who can still bear weight but need a little extra security and stability.

Slings

Our Silvalea line of slings come in a wide range of sizes and fabric choices. These specialized slings and harnesses are used along with lifts and transfer aids to ensure you and your loved one stay safe and secure while using the equipment.

Transfer aids

Our line up of Handicare manual transfer aids are designed to make movement easier—for you and for your family member. Choose from assistive walking devices to walking belts, low-friction devices and even slide sheets to help with repositioning, we have a solution to help.

The RoWalker400 is a unique and ergonomically designed walking aid for early mobilization, particularly for cardiothoracic and abdominal post-surgical users. It also allows for oxygen, drain bags and IV pole integration for convenient use during gait training.

Medical Beds

As part of our Patient Care division, we also offer Span home hospital beds and therapeutic surfaces, available through select dealers across North America.
